WHAT CAN I SELL IN A VENDOR STORE?
NOTE ON COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENTS!
If you have chosen to sell Hypar Prints in your store, please read our ART PRINT INFORMATION section as it has important details regarding the submission of images, print costs, delivery costs, dimensions and information regarding the various print categories. Uploaded images need to be of at least 300dpi print quality, to ensure a high quality print. Specifications increase depending on the print product variation. A smaller print size than the original will normally be of good enough quality. However if you are wanting to sell larger sized variations, please ensure that the original image meets the minimum specifications, to prevent degrading of quality. One of the main reason for returns of art prints is disappointment in the quality of the print not being sufficient. This can be avoided and we want you to be successful!
WHAT IS THE VENDOR DASHBOARD?
Once you have registered for an Artist Store, you will get access to the Vendor Dashboard. Here you can upload your original art works for sale, check on orders, page views, see reports, edit your biography and profile, see your earnings after commission, request a withdrawal, and much more. If you are not sure of anything, please let us know and we will be happy to help.
HOW TO GET PAID YOUR ARTIST EARNINGS
In the Vendor Dashboard, you can see how much you are earning at a glance. Requests for Withdrawals can be made once your balance reaches £10.00 – the amount you request will be deposited by Bank Transfer to the Bank Account you have specified in the Payments section.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS POLICIES
You can set your own terms and conditions for Returns and Refunds, for your original art sales. Your original art sales are your responsibility to ensure suitable packaging and prompt delivery. Please remove any original artworks from your store as soon as they are sold. Any issues with Hypar Prints sold will be dealt with directly by us.
DELIVERY AND ORDER COMPLETION OF ORIGINALS
All original works put up for sale are the Artist’s responsibility to ensure suitable protective packaging and prompt dispatch and delivery. We recommend using a Recorded Postage type with tracking, for security. Artworks with high values should be sent by a Registered Post or Courier and with suitable insurance in place. You can determine your own shipping policy, and shipping costs.

Useful tips on making the most out of your Hypar Art Store
Pricing your Art, generating sales, promoting your art, social media, customer service and more.
Hypar promotes the main Hypar Store, however it is recommended that your also promote your own individual Artist Store, both online and offline for maximum exposure. You get a unique URL for your store that you can use to link to, and also on print items such as business cards.
Make sure you connect your social media accounts to your store. If you don’t have accounts, now is the time to create them for free. This is a great way to promote your art store and generate interest. By creating a social media presence you can build trust and increase your store’s exposure. Instagram is a fabulous social media platform for artists, also Pinterest and Facebook. Twitter is useful for building relationships and is quick and easy to use, it also now supports video and images.
The best advice we can give is to look at other artists working in similar style/medium to get an idea of the best commercial price. With art pricing it is very much dependant on several factors – for example whether the artist has sold work, how well known they are, the materials used in the work, whether it is an original or Limited Edition Print or Open Edition Print.
For prints it is generally more straightforward to price than originals (cost of print, packaging, delivery costs and profit for the artist). Originals will always command a higher price than their Print equivalent. Larger pieces tend to be priced higher than smaller works, mainly due to the cost of the amount of materials used and the time to create.
To conclude, it is very much down to the individual as to the valuation of their work. Ideally it will be priced similarly to other artworks in the same style/media/size/genre, in order to be competitive. If you have exhibited and sold a portfolio of work before you can command higher prices as a known artist. For emerging artists it is better to do some research as to other similar works from unknown or lesser known artists.
Once you have made a sale, please ensure that if it is for an original artwork that you carefully pack and dispatch promptly to ensure the customer receives their artwork in a great condition and as soon as possible.
For Art Prints, Hypar will manage all of the print and delivery on your behalf. Please ensure you stay in touch with your customer and answer any queries they may make with you directly, as soon as you can.
Outstanding Customer Service can mean the difference between future sales or a non returning customer. Give your customer the type of experience you would hope to have!
How you show your art is paramount to your success as an artist. When choosing art for your store:
- Ensure that the pictures are carefully taken, with high detail and clarity.
- Ensure the exposure levels are correct, that the image is straight, and that the quality is not degraded.
- When compressing images ensure that the file is still of high enough quality to view on screen.
- Good, preferably natural, lighting is essential to accurately capture the tones and quality of the artwork. Ordinary tungsten lamps can give off a yellow tinge to your work, a daylight lamp or natural daylight is better as they neutralise this effect.
- Using AR technology can help customers to better understand your art and how it will appear in their space. We have an AR Art View facility that you can take advantage of – you will get one to try out on the Free Plan and more on the Professional and Pro + plans. The technology allows your customer to view your art exactly as it would appear in their own space. They can rotate, move and change the placement on their wall, in different rooms and locations.
Ensure that any orders for your original artworks are processed quickly, and packaged correctly to avoid damage in transit and a disappointed customer! Also if the value of your original artwork is high, confirm with the postage service used that there is an insurance cover. You can pay a little extra for high value items, which will give you peace of mind should anything go amiss! Make sure that you use a registered or recorded postage service that is trackable. Royal Mail Special Delivery service automatically covers your package for up to £500. You can set your own delivery rates on your store in the dashboard.
It’s good practie to answer customer queries as quickly as possible. If you are undertaking a commission for an artwork, stay in regular contact with your customer. Also make sure that you have an artist statement or biography, as our customers do like to know more about the artist from whom they are buying.
You will find a section on your Product Page in your Store where you can add information relating to SEO, (Search Engine Optimisation). This will make it easier for Search Engines (such as Google, Bing, etc.) to find your page in a relevant search. Customers often search online before finding what they are looking for directly on a site. Search Terms (Keywords or Focus Keyword) should be relevant to the product you are selling. You can use more than one keyword in a keyphrase, however limit the words to four maximum.
Ensure you have a Meta Description (or Snippet) and Title as well, that is relevant to the product.
